Short answer
Schedule call-focused ads around when you can answer and the outcomes produced in each time slot. Check routes and staffing first if calls do not arrive; changing ad schedules does not fix incorrect phone-system distribution.
Key verification: Check the time zone, omitted slots and complete call route after changing the schedule.
Sources and limitationsTo adjust Google Ads to telephone service, cross-reference when you can respond with the performance of queries in each time slot. If a campaign is designed to call immediately, showing it when no one answers can generate requests that you will have to retrieve later. The decision changes if the client can submit a form or agree to other assistance.
Do not close slots just because few sales appear on the same day. Calls may close later and small data varies. Separate capacity, ad intent, and business outcome before changing your schedule.
Prepare a coverage and results table
Use the same time zone and period in advertising, telephony and CRM. Add calls, conversations answered, valid queries, spending and sales from a cohort that has had time to close. If you attribute calls from multiple channels, filter those from the advertising journey you are evaluating.
| Fictitious stripe | Calls | Answered | Valid queries | Expense | Operational question |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9:00–13:00 | 40 | 36 | 20 | €300 | Is current coverage sustained? |
| 13:00–16:00 | 20 | 8 | 5 | €160 | Is coverage missing or is there another fault? |
| 16:00–19:00 | 30 | 27 | 15 | €240 | Does the team respond continuously? |
These are invented data. In the intermediate range, 8/20 = 40% attended and 160/5 = €32 per valid consultation observed. This allows us to investigate a strip; It does not demonstrate that eliminating it will reduce the business's cost per sale.
Choose the intervention according to the cause
- No team: studies restricting immediate call campaigns or offering another coherent path.
- There is team, but no calls are coming: checks routes and metering before modifying ads.
- There are calls answered, but they do not fit: reviews service, location and promise of the ad.
- There are queries pending closure: waits for sufficient observation before valuing sales.
The advertising schedule does not replace the calendar of the phone system. You decide when the campaign can be shown; the other decides where an incoming call ends.
Set up scheduling in Google Ads
In Campaigns, open Ad Scheduling, edit the campaign, and select days and times. Save and review all necessary stripes. Google indicates that eligibility is limited to the added times and allows up to six daily intervals per campaign. Source: Configure a schedule .
Intervals are interpreted based on the account's time zone. A service in the Canary Islands and an account with other hours require an explicit conversion. If a strip crosses midnight, configure each day's leg according to the official guide.
Check that the type of campaign and the route you use offer the expected configuration. Don't extrapolate this procedure to any advertising product or assume that all bid adjustments work with any strategy.
Checks before accepting the change
- Save the previous programming and the reason for the change.
- Verify time zone and team coverage.
- Check that a day is not missing or a slot has been deleted by mistake.
- Check which tour is available outside the chosen time.
- Record activation date and any other campaign changes.
Google documents that a standard account's time zone is not changed as an interface preference. See for your time zone guide ; Don't create another account just to avoid converting a coverage table.
How to evaluate the change without attributing any improvement to it
Compare periods with coverage, days and demand that are as similar as possible. Separate price, page, campaign, and staff changes that occur at the same time. If total and missed calls decrease, also check to see if you lost valid queries that were previously recovered.
To value sales, use opportunities with a consistent observation window. A contact from yesterday has less time to close than one from a month ago. The business attribution guide explains how to preserve the journey.
When you need additional call tracking
If the report available on Google covers your decision, start with it and the team coverage. Consider Nimbata or WhatConverts when you need to distinguish other sources, expand the details of the journey or preserve data to contrast with the CRM.
Don't hire a tool just to apply a schedule. First formulate what data is missing and verify that the plan provides it. For the initial measurement, see Google Ads options in Spain .
