AI Agent Assist: evaluate suggestions and summaries before connecting them to your CRM

Short answer

Accept an Agent Assist pilot when suggestions use current sources and summaries retain commitments, dates and the correct CRM destination. Measure review and repair as well as generation time; faster work does not compensate for an invented commitment.

Key verification: Check a corrected date, an unconfirmed commitment and a repeated CRM save.

Sources and limitations

An AI assistant is useful when it helps an agent answer with current information and leaves a record another person can continue. A pilot should measure both. Reducing typing time without checking what reaches the CRM can turn apparent improvement into repair work for the next shift.

Vocalcom Agent Assist describes live guidance and summaries reviewed by the agent before approval. This guide proposes an acceptance protocol; it does not report a test performed in an account.

Start with one task and one approved source

Choose a frequent task, such as explaining how to request a quotation. Define which document authorises each answer, who maintains it and how its version is identified. A folder mixing old and current offers makes it difficult to distinguish an assistant error from a knowledge error.

Prepare trial conversations with dates, amounts, negations and changes of mind. Include a question with no answer in the source. Before starting the pilot, write down what assistance should show and what should remain pending; do not accept an answer merely because it sounds plausible.

An acceptance record for each conversation

AI Agent Assist: pilot and summary quality: table 1
ElementFictional exampleAcceptable outcome
DateThe customer changes Tuesday to ThursdayThe summary keeps Thursday
CommitmentA price is requested; no offer is confirmedNo sale or agreed price is recorded
KnowledgeThe campaign offer has expiredIts terms are not recommended
DestinationThe opportunity remains an enquiryWrites to the correct record without changing its stage

Classify errors by their effect. A punctuation change may be cosmetic; an omitted negation or invented commitment can change a business action. Retain limited evidence for each discrepancy and a correction decision, without copying full conversations into unnecessary tracking tools.

Calculate time including corrections

Fictional example: ten conversations require 80 seconds of manual recording each, totalling 800 seconds. With assistance, eight require 25 seconds of review and two need 90 seconds because of corrections: 380 seconds. The difference is 420 seconds, seven minutes. The 52.5% reduction in this exercise is not a Vocalcom performance forecast.

Record generation waiting time separately and whether it occurs while the agent can do another task. If the summary appears after the next call arrives, also review interruptions and abandoned records. Time saved on one task does not demonstrate an equivalent reduction in staffing or costs.

Test CRM write-back

  1. Use a fictional opportunity and record its identifier before calling.
  2. Review and correct the summary before saving.
  3. Check fields, owner and next action in the CRM.
  4. Repeat the save and check that notes or tasks are not duplicated.
  5. Simulate a connection failure and check recovery without overwriting a human correction.

Decide using quality and effort together

Define beforehand which errors block expansion and who resolves them. You can accept a time improvement if records remain complete and verifiable; a false commitment needs repair even when the average is favourable. Repeat the evaluation when documents, campaign or connector change, using the same reference cases.
