Short answer
Use Pipedrive Nearby to locate contacts or opportunities with addresses, then confirm the address is the actual meeting place. Agree each appointment before ordering visits. The map helps find locations; it does not automatically confirm availability, permission to arrive or an optimal route.
Key verification: Check each visit's address, contact, time and objective against an actual confirmation before accepting the travel schedule.
Sources and limitationsA list of nearby clients is not a visit schedule. It may contain billing addresses, an office the contact no longer uses or businesses not expecting you. The task is to turn CRM locations into feasible meetings with a purpose and realistic travel time.
What Nearby contributes
The Pipedrive Nearby documentation describes a mobile feature for viewing CRM items near a location and adjusting the area. Check application compatibility and required device permissions. Organisation addresses may also locate related contacts or opportunities.
This helps identify candidates for a day of physical visits. It does not imply live tracking of a client or establish that they are present. An organisation address is a CRM record you must maintain, not an automatic confirmation of presence.
Verify the address that represents the meeting place
Before ordering visits, distinguish headquarters, billing location and the premises where the salesperson will be received. Record the confirmed meeting address, contact person and necessary access instructions. If the client proposes another location, do not follow the map marker out of habit.
The Show on map guidance explains using addresses in maps and lists. Check which field you are displaying: an empty address or incorrect field may explain a missing candidate without the opportunity having disappeared.
Original visit preparation worksheet
| Field | Required confirmation | If missing |
|---|---|---|
| Place | Actual meeting address | Do not finalise travel |
| Contact | Person receiving the salesperson | Request a contact |
| Time | Accepted appointment and expected duration | Do not treat proximity as availability |
| Objective | Question or decision to resolve | Prepare the purpose before leaving |
| Continuity | Owner and next activity | Assign follow-up after the meeting |
The worksheet is an editorial proposal. Adapt it to available activities and fields; it does not assume a Pipedrive feature with this name exists. Limit notes and personal information to what is needed for visit coordination.
Order the day with realistic timing
Filter the map for relevant items and remove those without a confirmed appointment. Consult your navigation tool, incorporating departure time, parking, access and space between meetings. The shortest-looking order on a static map may be impossible with fixed appointment times.
Do not interpret Nearby as an automatic route optimiser. For a dense schedule, compare constraints in a dedicated tool and manually review the result. Keep finding nearby clients separate from accepting a schedule you can actually complete.
A fictional day of visits
Fictional example: two nearby companies accept meetings, but one receives the salesperson at a warehouse rather than its registered headquarters. The agency corrects the appointment address, recalculates travel and changes the order. No time saving is attributed to Pipedrive: the example explains why confirming the place precedes route acceptance.
Before leaving, check that you can access the necessary information on your phone under your account and connection conditions. Retain an agreed channel for notifying delays. If an appointment is cancelled, do not automatically replace it with an uninvited visit to another nearby business.
Close with an outcome and next action
After each meeting, record observations, the pending decision and the agreed activity. Separate a completed visit from a sale: being on the premises does not establish a commercial outcome. Pipedrive may fit existing CRM management of relationships and field activities. CallsIQ has not tested the mobile feature or travelled a route; the worksheet and test are documentary proposals.
