Sales win rate · Documentation-based guide with original exercise

Win rate: won among resolved or among all created deals

Content updated:

Scope: Documentation reviewed on 13 October 2026. Examples are fictional and tests are proposed; CallsIQ has not performed product tests.

Short answer

Won among resolved and won among all created answer different questions. Declare cohort, cutoff and won/lost definitions. Pending deals are neither sales nor confirmed losses; leaving losses unclosed can inflate a resolved-only rate.

Key verification: Both rates reconstruct from the same cohort with pending deals shown separately.

Sources and limitations

Two sellers report different percentages from precisely the same opportunities. One divides by all created deals, the other only by closed deals. This guide resolves the distinction through a fictional example without ranking sellers or recommending universal sales targets.

Choose population and status rules

The exercise observes opportunities created within one common window at a stated later cutoff. Wins need commercial evidence under the company’s method; losses need recorded decisions. Avoid treating this month’s wins from old cohorts and newly created deals as one population.

Fictional 100-opportunity cohort

Win rate: won among resolved or among all created deals: table 1
State at cutoffCount
Won30
Lost20
Pending50
Total created100

Resolved win rate: 30 / (30 + 20) = 60%. Won share of the created cohort: 30 / 100 = 30%. The latter may change as pending cases resolve. Neither assigns outcomes to the fifty open deals nor guarantees similar performance in another period.

noCRM and report review

noCRM describes sales reports and indicators. Check field and filter definitions before comparing reported percentages against the worksheet. No universal use of the proposed denominator is claimed; request methodology when unreconstructible.

Review without manipulating status

Retain documented losses and assign reviews to pending cases. Compare cohorts at equal observation age rather than calendar months alone. CallsIQ has not run this noCRM report. A worksheet may suffice for few opportunities when it retains statuses and evidence rather than a standalone percentage.
