Autofill by subdomain: avoid choosing another client’s account

Content updated:

Scope: Documentation-based guide reviewed on 8 October 2026. Examples are fictional and protocols proposed; they are not product tests performed by CallsIQ.

Short answer

Subdomain matching can separate suggestions for client-a and client-b under the same domain. It does not necessarily distinguish accounts using different paths on one host. Verify address, account and client before signing in; it is not a phishing protection guarantee.

Key verification: Each test host offers the intended account and the shared-path case retains a manual check.

Sources and limitations

When an agency administers several accounts, a password suggestion correct for the domain can be wrong for the client. The problem is identity selection rather than password strength. This guide proposes a mapping matrix and a test that neither publishes nor shares secrets.

Separate host and path before configuration

Subdomain autofill: select the correct account: table 1
Fictional addressDifferenceCheck
cliente-a.example.testSubdomain AAuthorised A account
cliente-b.example.testSubdomain BAuthorised B account
portal.example.test/a and /bSame host, different pathsManually verify client and account

The table’s addresses are fictional. The host name ends before the first slash starting the path. Workspaces under /a and /b can share a host while representing different clients. Subdomain configuration should not be interpreted as user isolation, access authorisation or exact matching of every path.

Documented NordPass configuration

NordPass explains how to enable autofill via subdomain through autofill and autosave controls. Review the selected domain and save the change. Check stored addresses match the expected hosts; an internal client label alone does not define matching.

Test with authorised sample accounts

Use your own environments and sample accounts without real data. Open each address from a previously verified bookmark, observe suggestions and record only label and username, never the password. Repeat for the second subdomain, a new session and the two-path case. Do not enter credentials to experiment on an unknown website.

If another client’s account appears, first review the item address and applicable configuration. If accounts share a host, explicitly retain manual selection in the procedure. After signing into the authorised environment, check the visible identity before changing information. An expected suggestion does not prove permission to perform every action.

When the manager adds value

For a few accounts, clear names and verified bookmarks may resolve confusion. A manager helps more when applying that rule across many environments, but compatible clients and devices need checking. This CallsIQ test has not been executed in NordPass; retain your actual review evidence and repeat it when URLs change.
