Stock or personal AI avatar: choose your spokesperson

Content updated:

Scope: Documentation reviewed on 9 October 2026. Examples are fictional and tests are proposed; CallsIQ has not performed product tests.

Short answer

Choose an avatar according to its role and usage conditions. A stock avatar does not establish its actor works for your business. For a real person’s representation, verify consent and asset control. Authorisation to create an avatar does not approve every later script.

Key verification: Avatar type, permitted use, owner and script approval are recorded before video distribution.

Sources and limitations

A business needs a presenter explaining how to request assistance. It could use a faceless presentation, an available avatar or an authorised person’s representation. The choice should serve the video’s purpose without implying a false identity. This guide proposes a decision worksheet rather than advice on an image-rights contract.

Separate visual presence from personal representation

Stock or personal AI avatar: choose your spokesperson: table 1
OptionAcceptance questionAvoided error
FacelessIs the demonstration understandable?Adding a purposeless avatar
StockIs this use permitted and how is it presented?Attributing personal experience
Represented personWho consents and approves the message?Impersonation or expanded authorisation

Do not give a stock presenter “I tested this product” when it implies a nonexistent real testimonial. Identify presenter function and content responsibility. For a named employee’s representation, define who may prepare and publish videos and what happens when that collaboration ends.

What Synthesia documents

Synthesia describes Personal Avatars from photos with the same person’s consent video. Its licensing rules depend on avatar type and usage. Check current terms and edition before production; one case’s permission does not cover every channel or topic.

Fictional case: the script changes, the face does not

A person authorises an access tutorial. Later someone adds a refund promise and publishes another version using their avatar. Acceptance must detect that the new script requires review and that the represented person did not approve the promise. Retain script version, approval and channels; also review downloaded resources beyond the central link’s control.

Rehearse using a fictional script and an authorised asset before creating actual material. Check implied identity, message correspondence and publication permissions. CallsIQ has neither generated this avatar nor executed the Synthesia workflow. Narration or screen capture may suffice; an avatar helps only when improving explanation without implying false personal attribution.
